Penta Embarks on
Significant Infrastructure and Technology Upgrades for
2011

technologies. In 2010, we have invested
significant resources to acquiring and preparing the
latest hardware, software and network infrastructure
which will enable our customers to significantly benefit
in all areas of service including performance, security,
reliability and IT compliance.
Server & Hosting
Infrastructure:
- Complete revision of network
infrastructure, including cabling and switches, in
our Geneva 1 data center (GVA1
- Setup of new generation
firewalls
- Configuration of end-to-end
redundancy with no single point of failure
- Setup of a new disaster
recovery and data replication site in Geneva 2 data
center (GVA2)
- Shared service (AD, DNS and
other) replication across our 3 data centers GVA1,
GVA2, and Dubai 1 data center (DXB1)
- Data transfer our new higher
performance SAN (Storage Area Network)
- Setup of new generation
backup products, dramatically lowering backup times
by 70%
- Replacement of all
infrastructure servers to new and green-generation
servers with better power consumption management
Applications:
- Introduction of new Windows 2008 server family
and Citrix XenApp 6 (replacing Citrix Presentation
Server) platforms
- Introduction of the new Exchange 2010 for
messaging in redundant mode including Threat
Management Gateway (TMG)
- Introduction of new Microsoft Office 2010,
Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and Office Communication
Server
- Replacement of anti-virus product on all
servers, adding comprehensive malware management
with minimal overhead on performance
New features and upgrades planned for 2011
include:
- New monitoring tools for network,
infrastructure, server and application-level Key
Performance Indicators (KPI)
- New version of Blackberry server including new
range of Blackberry devices
- Introduction of VMWare View4 as an alternative
to Citrix XenApp 6
- Renewal of our SAS70 Type II audit for 2010,
bringing you the guarantee of highest quality
provider service management in accordance with
market best practices
