Senior Network and Security Engineer

Job description

• Network and Security Engineer in an international Data Center Environment
• Design, configure, monitor and maintain network and security equipments Maintain technical and network documentations, configurations and diagrams for our internal and external infrastructure and data centers
• Part of the Network and Security team reporting to Technical Manager
• Work closely with the Operations Team Participate in R&D discussions and projects for best of breed product assessment and selection
• Communicate efficiently with internal and external customers and suppliers

Candidate profile and professional skills

• Network and Security Engineer as a higher education graduate or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of experience in networking and security field
• Data Center experience – rack mounting equipment, cabling management Hand-on Cisco Switch + Router experience and certification
• Firewall experience and certification – Checkpoint + Cisco
• Adequate experience in IDS and packet inspection tools – Tipping Point ITIL foundation certified; strict adherence to our on-going SAS70 methodology
• Network documentation and diagram creation
• Available for on calls, one week per month
• Willing to travel for short term missions to our international offices
• Solid recommendations from previous experience

Required Technical Skills

• Checkpoint NGX
• Checkpoint ClusterXL
• Checkpoint Secure Platform (SPLAT)
• Checkpoint UTM-1 Edge firewall
• Cisco ASA or Juniper Firewalls operations + configurations in HA mode
• IPSec VPN tunnel design and implementation
• Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004/2006
• Both LAN and WAN expertise
• DNS management
• IDS operations – Tippingpoint or Sourcefire
• Cisco switches’ operations + configurations – vlans, trunking, etherchannel, inter VLAN routing. Particularly 65xx core switches
• Cisco routers’ operations + configurations – HSRP, GRE tunnelling, backup interfaces
• RSA SecurID management AS and Public IP space management (working with RIPE)
• Network monitoring software/SNMP
• xDSL, ISDN, Frame-Relay, E1, and leased line circuits

Good to have technical skills

• Good understanding of VMWare environments
• Good understanding of SAN storage and deduplication techniques
• Experience in disaster recovery environments and techniques
• Microsoft Windows Server Management, scripting and Group Policies
• SQL Server / Exchange Server / Sharepoint Server
• Large volume, data center grade backups
• MCSA/MCSE
